Phillip Futures is Accepted as FIA Member
Leading global trade organization for cleared derivatives markets, the Futures Industry Association (FIA), selects Singapore-based broker Phillip Futures as primary member.
Friday 23 November 2018, Singapore – Phillip Futures is pleased to announce its primary membership in the Futures Industry Association (FIA).
FIA primary members are limited to clearing members that hold customer funds and thus contribute substantially to the safety and soundness of the cleared derivatives market infrastructure. These members also play a critical role in the reduction of systemic risk in global financial markets.
“Being selected as primary member of the FIA means we are formally acknowledged by the industry as a key player, it is an honour for us and we thank the FIA for this recognition.” Mr Teyu Che Chern, CEO of Phillip Futures commented. “Along with other FIA members, exchanges, brokers, trading companies and service providers, we will continue to actively support the ecosystem of the cleared derivatives markets.”
FIA primary members go through a stringent selection process. Majority of FIA’s primary members are in the United States, and just 10% of primary members are from the Asia Pacific region. FIA reviews each membership application internally before a recommendation is made to the FIA Board, who is the final approver.
“We are thrilled to have Phillip Futures as a member. The extensive depth and breadth of their offerings, along with their well-established network across not only Asia, but globally, is truly unique. The relationship will allow us to promote the exchange traded derivatives industry to the rapidly growing marketplaces in which Phillip Futures thrives.”
This honour coincides with FIA’s invitation to Mr Teyu to be a panel speaker at its 14th Annual Asia Derivatives Conference (Asia 2018). The FIA Asia Derivatives Conference, organized by the Futures Industry Association will take place from 27th November to 29th November 2018 at The St. Regis Singapore in Singapore. Mr Teyu will be speaking in the “Futures for a New Generation of Investors” panel on 28 November 2018. The panellists will be discussing how a new generation of individual investors is shaping the way brokers, exchanges and technology firms tailor their offerings in the Asia-Pacific region. This panel will look at the different approaches adopted to make futures relevant and attractive to this growing user base, including the areas of education, technology and customer engagement practices.
Asia 2018 is Asia’s preeminent conference focused exclusively on the derivatives market. Running for the 14th year with more than 30 exhibitors featuring the latest platforms and services, product offerings and solutions, the event attracts the key market participants from the Asia-Pacific region and provides a unique forum and numerous networking opportunities for the derivatives market.
